Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage multiple audit engagements from planning through completion, ensuring compliance with BDO methodology and international auditing standards (IFRS, ISA).
- Oversee engagement budgets, timelines, and resource allocation to deliver high-quality audits on schedule.
- Develop a deep understanding of clients’ businesses, industries, and risk environments to provide tailored audit solutions.
- Perform complex risk assessments and review substantive audit procedures, resolving technical accounting and reporting issues.
- Review and approve financial statements prepared under IFRS and national regulations.
- Supervise, coach, and mentor audit teams, fostering professional growth and maintaining high performance standards.
- Maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and delivering value-added insights.
- Collaborate with Partners and Directors across BDO’s global network to ensure consistent quality and innovation.
- Represent BDO professionally at all times through punctuality, conduct, and appearance.
- Ensure accurate documentation of audit work and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the audit function.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
- ACCA/CPA qualified (or equivalent); advanced progress toward full qualification required.
- Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in external audit, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Strong technical knowledge of IFRS, ISA, and local GAAP.
- Proven ability to manage complex audits for clients across diverse sectors, including listed and international companies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
- Fluency in Azerbaijani; advanced English required; Russian is an asset.
