Audit Manager is responsible for the overall audit process, and report to the Partner of any critical issues identified during the course of the audit, as well as ensuring that the work is done in accordance with the BDO Audit Methodology.

Responsibilities/Duties:

• Guide the day-to-day operations of multiple audit engagements under the supervision of engagement management;
• Oversee projects to audit internal controls for clients, as well as research on complex accounting and auditing issues;
• Create plans for accomplishing the engagement objectives and a strategy that complies with professional standards and appropriately addresses risks;
• Develop and maintain productive working relationships with clients;
• Monitor the progress of the engagement team against the plan and alter it when needed;
• Effectively utilize advanced capabilities of audit technology tools and other firm standard software to meet engagement objectives and enhance service delivery;
• Communicate ideas/opinions and information to the audit team and listen/respond to other team members views;
• Foster an efficient, innovative, and team-oriented work environment;
• Use technology to continually learn, share knowledge with team members;
• Be accessible and maximise contribution of staff,
• Review work of audit teams and take ownership for their work; manage, motivate and provide guidance to staff, identify training needs;
• Understand the Firm’s service lines and actively assess/present ways to apply knowledge and services;
• Delegate effectively and monitor progress to ensure expectations are met through initiating discussions with service team and obtaining on-going feedback from client;
• Monitor team’s work to ensure it is consistent with the firm’s quality standards and audit approach;
• Be conscious of professional liability;
• Refer ethical, independence and conflict issues associated with clients and assignments to the Partner;

• Demonstrate project management skills and effectively manage their own time across different engagements; • Develop understanding of client industries and identify value added recommendations;
• Represent BDO in a professional manner at all times through punctuality & appearance;
• Meet client expectations and project deadlines.

Requirements:

• Minimum five years of recent experience in External Audit Services;
• Advanced knowledge of IFRS and Financial Reporting requirements;
• Any professional qualification (CA, CPA or ACCA);
• Fluent in Azerbaijani, Russian and English;
• Strong analytical, planning and communication skills;
• Ability to demonstrate excellent communication, presentation and strong team leadership skills;
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines;
